People's Responsible Organisation of United Dharavi(PROUD)

PROUD is a non-political, secular and community based federation of 70 Co-op. Housing Societies representing different sectors and working for the betterment of people in Asia's largest slum Dharavi since, 1979.

PROUD has been very active and continuously involved in Dharavi Redevelopment Project(DRP), working in close coordination with MHADA/PMGP/SPPL/SRA specially in organizing community meetings, spreading awareness, creating public opinion etc. When opposition political parties and other vested interest groups obstructed the project, PROUD alone stood by Government and distributed leaflets and hundreds of posters at the behest of SRA. PROUD is therefore very committed to work closely with the government and SRA for successful implementation of the project.
