Call for international solidarity with Narmada Valley struggle for Zero Evictions!

We appeal international solidarity to support the 32 years struggle of Narmada Bachao Andolan, against the Indian Prime Minister’s authoritarian decision to close the gates of Sardar Sarovar Dam lake, an environmentally destructive and human rights violative project, without ensuring rehabilitation of 200,000 people who have been living in the areas that will be submerged.

We appeal international progressive organisations, the environmental groups, and people’s movements, to support the 32 years struggle of Narmada Bachao Andolan,  against the Indian Prime Minister’s authoritarian decision to close the gates of Sardar Sarovar Dam lake by July 31 2017, and requesting the World Bank to withdraw funding from this environmentally destructive and human rights violative projects, without ensuring rehabilitation of 200,000 people who have been living in the areas that will be submerged.

We stand up with the Medha Patkar’s indefinite hunger strike along with 12 other project affected women.

We urge you to stand up in solidarity around the world and build international pressure to call upon the Prime Minister of India, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, and the Supreme Court of India to stop forcible eviction and unjust submergence and initiate dialogue with oustees and Narmada Bachao Andolan.
