Final Resolution, International Forum on the crisis of housing in Haiti
We, organizations of survivors living in internally displaced persons’ [IDP] camps, as well as social and grassroots organizations, assembled for three days (May 19-21, 2011) at Fany Villa in Port-au-Prince to reflect on the problem of housing within Haiti’s longstanding crisis. Following an exchange around the theme “January 12: Nightmares, Reality and Dreams,” we state:

California, Prayer Walk for Homes and Healing
CHAM is organizing a Prayer Walk for Homes and Healing to take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 6. The walk will begin at St. James Park near the corner of First and St. John Street, and will proceed through the neighborhood where we will pass by and pray before several vacant and/or foreclosed homes.

A 16h45 aujourd'hui, le 20 Octobre 2011, les résidents de Dale Farm et leurs soutiens quitteront conjointement le site, entamant ainsi la prochaine étape de la bataille contre l'expulsion du site, qui les a mené jusqu'alors de cours de justice en barricades et manifestations. La décision de quitter le site ensemble vise à démontrer l'unité des résidents et de leurs soutiens après deux mois de présence militante sur le site via le Camp Constant.

Mumbai, WHD: Rally, Memorandum and Joint Anti-Evictions Task Force announced
Journée Mondiale de l'Habitat - Rassemblement de Mahim Phatak jusqu'à Pivla Bunglow à Dharavi (Bombay, 31 octobre 2011)
Un réseau d'organisations d'habitants récemment créé a organisé la Journée Mondiale de l'Habitat. Environ 500 communautés locales ont soumis un cahier de doléance au Premier Ministre, lui demandant d'arrêter les expulsions forcées et d'ouvrir le dialogue avec les communautés locales, les ONG et les Organisations à base communautaire (OBC) afin de trouver des solutions appropriées à la crise du logement à Bombay en totale conformité avec le Pacte International sur les Droits économiques, sociaux et culturels (PIDESC). La création d'une Force de Frappe Unitaire Anti-Expulsions impliquant tous les partenaires a été annoncée en appui à leurs revendications.
